how did you get the flv Kate? I've had a quick look at it and I'm stuck...

(grabbing this video would be called a 'rip' btw, a cap is a capture from live source (tv, radio etc))

edit: got the clip using the new Real Player Beta

Yes that's a great little session, but I got a bit of a shock when he mentioned somebody writing to him about the Tony Benn “never wrestle with a chimney sweep” quote, as I do believe it’s probably myself as I did once email him & mentioned this very quote & did cheekily mentioned as a joke that people might start to believe that they both had the same father. He didn’t reply but obvious did read it & perhaps took it to heart ! (Incidentally I’m assuming that he didn’t reply, but as I found out recently by accident, I may have missed it, because his emails don’t always come under his name, as I discovered when I was clearing out my spam emails & found a reply from him on something else but sent under a different name.)

Overall a very good performance, although he appeared to get himself into a bit of difficulty over Genocide, he managed ok in the end. I thought that he should have mentioned that the extermination of the Armenians as being a Genocide just to reinforce the definition, and perhaps he should have mentioned that this term is frequently used incorrectly to describe what happened in Cambodia, so he understood why people think of these as Genocide, but that the strict legal technical definition was what he had stated as it being.

Thanks to everybody for making this available.

The flv was in my temporary folder. I just copied it from there and pasted it onto the desktop, then converted it to an avi :)

I can upload it somewhere if you like. Infact I'll do it anyway incase anyone else wants it

in the temp folder? Typical, there's me ripping the flv player and trying to work out from the source where the file was...

I'm sure a standalone avi would get a good few downloads

I wonder if IE and FF might place the FLV in different folders .. or if different players may alter the location -- though I doubt it, since controlled by the plugin/control.

Kate are you using IE or FF, and was the FLV file in "c:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\temp" .. or elsewhere

Finally, strange the FLV wasn't purged on exit .. or maybe it would have been.

**this sounds like a media thread.

Yep, Mandy, I use IE (terrible, eh?) The flv was in the temp cache, just sitting there waiting to be plucked.

Both the website and the video on this thread come up as blank spaces to me, I can't see this at present.

I have an add-on to IE7 from OrbitDownloader.com which enables me to save any flv with a simple click. I'm sure that similar add-ons must exist for FireFox.

I needed to make an installation for this one too, and now with it successfully installed the others work as well. Thanks :D
