And I thought they were relaxed about such issues on the continent.

Looks like it is OK to poke fun at almost everyone, but NOT "the establishment".

Where is all the out cry about freedom of speech now?
Where are those who stood up for freedom of speech in Denmark(over cartoons of Muhammed) now that it is menaced in Madrid? I wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, but it's a royal family that's being lampooned here - they're so much more important than entire religions!

i see that the original pic that Mandy linked ahs now changed to a legal document - and with my rudimentary Spanish I'm guessing it's the writ served on them not to publish it.

Hahahaha - I found this to be extremely amusing. Maybe we should all move to Spain, if this kind of thing is the biggest problem facing the country! :nyer:

It's kind of weird that "slandering or defaming the Spanish royal family carries a two-year prison sentence." I guess there is a fine line between satire and slander in Spain. I do think that it's a bit much for the cover of a magazine and wonder if it would have gotten as much attention if it was tucked away on, say, page 11.

I thought it was Prince Charles...the ears...
