that's some going for sure - I'm reading the book of 'Hannibal' (Lecter) at the moment and the way Lecter's memory is described in that is very close to this.

They should pay him lots of money to undergo a brain scan while he is learning new images through small (1") screens in glasses.

We might learn something about how to improve everyone's memory by seeing how his brain differs from normal ones.
