From reading other posts, I see that Irishmafia is a Man U supporter. While they are not my favs (I am partial to City), that was not the red team that I meant. I should have been more specific....the North London red team, whose name I can't even type. Apparently the Queen and her late mother are supporters as well as Harry. All I can say to that is "Off with their heads!"

Welcome! May I ask which Spurs you are talking about? I'm assuming it is your icon, but I can't read the writing on it.

She's talking about Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club (AKA Soccer) but you might know them better as "Spurs nil"

How funny are you, maycm!! Not so many nils anymore...Do I hear some concern that we will give you a true run for your money next season? I think it is time for a shake up in the table.

Thanks for the warm welcome. As maycm so cleverly shared, the Tottenham Hotspurs are an English football team (I can't use that S word!). The banner on the logo says "To Dare Is To Do" in latin. My great-grandfather played for Spurs from 1902-1904, when unfortunately he died at the age of 28. My brother (Marcella's hubby) and I are slavish fans and we try to get to as many games as we can.

I have a friend in the UK who is also a Spurs fan - season ticket holder and all that, so I am well qualified as Spurs baiter.

I'll look forward for some good banter next season.

Me too. Send your friend a hearty "Come On You Spurs!" from a stateside member of Martin Jol's Yid Army!

B - saw a Man City fan today in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. I said "Whoa! Don't see too many of you around!" to which his wife responded "Which is why he wears nothing but City gear!"

Blue Moon, I saw you standing alone
without a dream in my heart
without a love of my own

Gotta love those City boys...
