Tonight's Arse Up

Post by nekokate »

George was intending to start the 19th May show with a song I'd put together for him, but it seems there was some insane miscommunication, and a completely erroneous audio clip was played instead. Making him and me look like eejits, lol.

I was wondering about that - the disjointed audio at the very start sounded like a CONSPIRACY to me! haha

I think George initially tried to play it right at the start when he said "Thank you for this", but it played the usual "Top cat" song.

There was a call from Simon in Zimbabwe approx 5 mins in, but I wonder if something happened (e.g. offensive caller) and someone pressed the "emergency" button (which I assume they have) which removes a few seconds of "live" recording.

Here's what happened. I made a song for George and sent it to him by email. He said he liked it and on Friday's show he mentioned on air that he was going to try and get one of his "clever, young comerades" to find it for him.

Then on Saturday's show, apparently he tried to get it played. Problem was, I haven't put it on the net yet because I thought he might want to debut it on his show, the only copy was sent to his email address.

George must have assumed it was on my YouTube page with everything else I've done, and told one of his staff something like "get a copy of the Barack Obama thingy on YouTube", and then not checked if they'd got the right audio. The only Galloway/Obama clip I have is this one, and that's what was mistakenly played after he introduced it expecting my new song.

The doubly baffling thing is that the clip below is merely an excerpt from a previous show I'd edited out, so when it got played it will have just sounded like "business as usual" to all the listeners. Oh well, classic arse-up, eh?

That explains the "Simon from Zimbabwe", he was from your recording

Look on the bright side .. your name will be repeated in future shows ...

Far from it .. As a listener (who didn't know the background), it just makes it look like TS couldn't find in time the clip GG wanted.
