nothing about it on the news, in contrast to the fate of fifteen soldiers, but it is an uprising that could prove far more devastating to the american ruling class than chavez...

that would be brilliant - I've a pal who moved to Egypt last year only to return because of the government suppression and lack of freedom.

This is without doubt one of the most encouraging developments i've seen in a considerable amount of time. let's see what the 'pro-war left' like Aaronovitch, Cohen and Hitchens make of it, my guess is a total silence.

I think George Galloway won't be displeased .. he has so many times spoken against despotic dictators in the Middle East who are propped up by US (I won't say Britain because Britain doesn't have much influence any more other than as Bush's poodle).
