George in a debate on the English language TODAY 2.30pm

Post by Mandy »

I believe George is speaking in a debate on the English language at 2.30pm today in Parliament.

Whilst I hope I can record it, nice of others can do so as well.

You should be able to see and listen to this live on the internet via https://www.parliamentlive.tv/

Does the debate only start at 2:30? I'll record it as good quality avi if I can. Paintdry sent a note about this the other day so I was on the ball, but thanks for the reminder.

According to https://www.parliament.uk/commons/index.cfm
"At the end of the sitting
Adjournment: Community cohesion and the English language (Mr George Galloway)"

I contacted GG's office in Parliament to get a time, and 2:30 was the time they said.

But unsure how "fixed" it is.

The good news is that according to https://www.parliamentlive.tv/

"Parliament Live carries coverage of all UK Parliament proceedings taking place in public, including Select and Standing Committees of both Houses.
The material is then available from an on-demand archive for 28 days. "

i.e. Even if you miss it, you could record it within 28 days

I try not to record anything from the net as the quality is always a lot lower than through the cable-tv box, but that's good to know about the archive being there, cheers.

ok, here's the first 15 minutes of the debate which covered galloway's opening statement. I'll be releasing the high-quality version at some point in the future on a dvd, with lots of other stuff included too.

the download link is in the members' section now

Nice one faceless.

FYI, you can listen to the 30 minutes [audio only] (including the waffling reply) on
https://www.spiderednews.com/Videos/79739.htm

Your video's much nicer though :)
