Nookie broadcast live to uni
Exclusive by Charlie Gall
TWO students had a sex romp in class unaware they were being broadcast live to a dozen other colleges by video link. The frisky couple got down and dirty after staying behind when their tutorial came to an end but their steamy sex show was caught on a live video conferencing network - and beamed to colleges across the Highlands. Now the pair are facing the wrath of university chiefs.
An insider said: "The couple thought they would have five minutes to themselves in the room. Although they thought the machine was off, they could actually be seen by anyone who cared to dial in and see them. And they were caught in the act."
The male and female were attending the tutorial at the North Highland College campus in Thurso, Caithness, last Tuesday. Because the University of the Highlands and Islands colleges are spread out, students do a lot of their tutorials by video conferencing links. The live link-up allows students at one campus to see - and be seen by - students in other parts of the Highlands. When the lecture ended, all the students left the room but the lovebirds sneaked back, closing the door behind them. It was then that things started hotting up.
Another source confirmed: "The class had finished and the room was empty. But I gather that the amorous pair returned. They thought it would be private. Unfortunately for them, the VC link was still on. The VC link technician would have been aware. I believe other people witnessed the impromptu show but don't know how many."
College chiefs have a recording of the extra-curricular activities and have launched an inquiry. University media officer Glenda Johnson confirmed: "There was an incident of inappropriate behaviour. The class was being delivered through video-conferencing and the link was still operating when the incident took place. Disciplinary proceedings are under way."
Last night, a student at the Thurso campus said the sex show was "the talk of the steamie". He said: "I don't think they will be expelled. They have been embarrassed enough by their Highland fling."
