South Wales Police are investigating alleged threats which forced controversial Respect party MP George Galloway to make a hurried switch of venues for a speech in Swansea. The Scottish MP for Bethnal and Bow was forced to change venues on Tuesday night after he said someone claiming to represent the British National Party made threats against the club originally planned for the speech. Mr Galloway was due to address supporters at the Four Seasons social club in Trallwn in Swansea but the politician instead made hurried plans to speak at the Grove lecture theatre at Swansea University four miles away. He said he hoped South Wales Police would trace the caller.

I found this story after following a google-link to the BNP site, which went like this:
According to a spokesperson for the far-left Islamic ”Respect” party a club where their leader, “Gorgeous” George Galloway, was due to address the faithful (and faithless) has been subjected to a “threat” from someone claiming to be from the British National Party.
Of course far-left groups have a long history of “crying wolf” in this respect, as a ploy with which to discredit those with whom they disagree. And, indeed, making late-night threatening phone calls to pub and hall owners homes, to intimidate them into cancelling bookings to the BNP, is something far-left activists know quite a lot about - considering how experienced they are at it!
We, however, would suggest that if any threat was made, then it is far more likely to have come from a supporter of Plaid Islam - a party that resents Respect trying to “muscle in” on their cornering of Wales’ Islamic block vote!
Wales British National Party – the Real Party of Wales.
