... good news that. Although a cardboard cut-out would be preferable to Gaunt!

he seems to be covering for everyone these days - best plan if you ask me though. It will get a good few listeners who wouldn't normally tune in to listen to his normal shows.

that'll be AM - so if I get it recorded it should be available here by 2pm GMT.

I can't believe he referred to "the great John Gaunt" last night when he mentioned that he would be covering for that obnoxious idiot. Maybe he was being sarcastic, or maybe it's TalkSport protocol so he had to say it, still painful on the ears either way !

Whilst on the subject of painful utterances from GG, I find it cruel & unbecoming of him that he cannot mention Ming Campbell's name without qualifying it with "If he's still alive". Not that I'm no big fan of Campbell, but to attack someone because of their age is rather unpleasant, especially as GG heaped lavish praise on Campbell in his book (I'm not the only one").

Well said, Sheffman.

I'm just listening to Friday's show now, and he just referred to "Jean d'Arc" as "The Great Diane from Finchly." Gives you an idea how liberally he uses the term.

Maybe it was a reference to the gutter press - "I'm standing in for the grate, John Gaunt"

ok, that's the show available for download now - as I wrote in the member's section it wasn't the best show at all though. And after removing the ads and news from the 3 hour it was only 1h55 in total - is that what Gaunt's show is like normally?

here's the clip from shoutfile that is mentioned in the show - it's from the Australian satirical news show "CNNNN" - you can visit their site direct at www.cnnnn.com

You're not kidding. He couldn't even get 2 minutes into the show without reaching for <i>"not since Caligula..."</i>

You weren't kidding, faceless. Barely 2 hrs of content in 3, with commercials every 10 minutes. I haven't listened to it yet, but I prefer his regular format.
