lol my thoughts exactly but she was of sound mind and gorgeous with it....althought Britney doesn't look that bad either actually. I don't mind the look although I prefer dreadlocks. Rasta Faria!!

If you mean Sinead O'Connor then many thought she was insane when on live tv she said, and i may not be accurate here, "fight the real enemy" and then produced a pic of Pope John Paul II. She then ripped it up live on air.

All about opinions isn't it.

She did nothing but shame herself for her actions and nobody else. It was her opinion and she displayed it in the manner she saw fit.

I don't agree with what she did but good on her for being a strong enough woman to put herself out there and risk both fame and popularity to be real and true to herself.

Thats better don't wanna get off on the wrong foot now do i.

I see where you are coming from, but we shall agree to disagree on this one. I personally hope i am wrong on this whole situation and she is just acting up. Otherwise i dread to think how it will end.

ps: and thanks for the welcome. Will i still be welcome when i mention Naka's freekick hitting the back of the net (ducking for cover)

The past few years we have seen her act in ways, which to me seem like a cry for help. Others may not agree buts thats my opinion. This latest episode surely has to be it for Britney. I really hope she gets the help she needs.

While I totally agree here, it is up to her to get the help. You can't force another human to get help. She checked into rehab...she was trying to get help, or so it seemed, until she checked herself out. She needs to grow up, put on her big girl panties, and take care of business and stop acting like a spoiled child.

With all due respect this is just the beginning of the end IMO. The no panties incident had nothing to do with this on the whole scale of things. Whatever the reason for her doing this is a mystery, but this is a girl that has grown up since around the age of 11 in showbiz. Since she was 15/16 she has been made a role model to hundreds of thousands and had her every move watched and scrutinised. I think you are very naive in saying she should grow up. IMO she is suffeirng from mental health issues. This has been the case for years not just the past few months. There have too many incidents to mention. She is clearly rebelling against her past career. A career that, although making her rich and famous, had her thrown about like a piece of meat for the corporates to make big bucks.

Don't judge someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. I personally don't think i could handle all that pressure. Others may like to think they can but history has shown that many cant.

You make it sound so easy just to walk into rehab and hey presto you're fixed. You're attitude is typical of societys attitude towards the demise of celebritys these days. We think cos they are rich and famous that all is well or all should be well. We never think of the pressures, the strains, the downfalls and why....................cos she is Britney f**kin Spears. She MUST be happy cos she's living the dream.

I wish the girl all the best, but may i add that not for one minute did i say she should be forcefully restrained and helped. I merely said i hope she gets the help she needs. I still stand by that statement.

For the record, I never once said going to rehab was easy or that one simply walks in, is cured, and leaves. In order to get help, ONE MUST WANT IT. That means one must STAY in rehab and complete the process and walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Rehab sucks and takes discipline and GROWING UP and looking at ones responsiblities in life (both good and bad). I, of all people, would NEVER indicate rehab is a piece of cake. I'm not real sure why there is a revolving door on rehabs for celebs.

I also never said I thought she was happy. I never said her money or fame brought her happiness. Her actions prove to me that she is a very unhappy individual and has been that way for years. However, I do not think she suffers from mental illness, (unless you call "I'm a child star and can't handle the pressure" a mental illness) but I'm not a doctor. Being unhappy is not a mental illness in my opinion. Rebellion, as you say, is not a mental illness. It is an act of youth (typically...there are many "grown-ups" who rebel as well).

But again, if she wants to be happy it is up to HER to get happy.

And I agree with you...I do hope she gets the help she needs. However, she has to WANT it was my point. I think at this point, she is happy with the attention she is getting.

Exactly my thoughts...... although Boab and Irish, you bring up excellent points.

Personally speaking, I think she gets off on this kind of thing a little bit and, yes, she's been in showbiz a long time, made an example of etc....... and yes, I don't think any of us an understand what it's like 100 percent, but...... if it's messing up her life, and she's not happy, she should give it up. Now, I know that doesn't sound like an easy decision, but it should be with two beautiful boys like that. She should look at them when she wakes up in the morning, realize she has what she needs and then take steps to get her life in order.

I don't mean to make it sound like that will be an easy thing, of course it won't.... any addiction is a hard thing to deal with. But if anyone has access to all the advantages and services offered, she does. But of course, she has to want it. I just hope that she clues in sooner rather than later.

Nice to see a Britney thread with intelligent debate rather than spam. Personally I've never liked her very much but I've got nothing against shaved heads; Natalie Portman shaved her head making the film V for Vendetta and looked even better for it.

The way I see it -- this girl has been the Money Train for her family since she was 11 years old. There are so many people who depend on her to make money FOR them. So, of course she's been raised by "yes" people because as long as Britney is happy, the money keeps rolling in.

I'm always amazed by some of the parents of these young starlets -- they seem to set no boundaries for their children, because they are profiting from them.

Even though my sisters, brother & I are grown, we still "reel each other in" from time to time. My parents have always been, and still are, very straightforward with us if they think we're not acting in our best interest or in a healthy manner. In other words, we're always honest and give each other reality checks. Jeez, if Britney was the daughter of my Mum and Dad --- she'd have her ass handed to her on a plate.

You just gotta wonder: does Britney have ANYONE in her life who says, "Hey, you got to stop what you're doing, examine your choices and chill out," OR how about (just plain and simple), "NO, Britney. The answer is NO." Apparently not.

I heard some pundit last night on the radio suggesting that maybe she shaved it all off because she had bald spots from having done so much damage to her hair over the years.

*ahem* may I pipe in here?

Sounds like normal 20 something freak out behavior to me ... She's 25 chronologically, probably 16 emotionally and about 100 experientially toss in there the fact that she is basically UNEDUCATED ... I'd be freaking out too ... Heck I am educated and I had a freaky 25th year - didn't shave my head (I did get a crew cut when I was 2Cool but I was drinking heavily and hanging out with drag queens ... did I need rehab? Nope - just needed something better to do with my time.

IMO - Hollywood is too obsessed with rehab.... not saying it doesn't help people ... it's as if you can't be a big star without a big crash and a jaunt to rehab. Normal people get 2 weeks vacation every year to unwind and recharge ... I guess celebs get rehab ...

If it weren't for the money and fame she'd be another "mother too young" waiting at the bus stop for a ride back to the trailer park.

None of it surprises me ... I thought she was looking for attention when she hooked up with the Kabala train - I knew THAT wouldn't last... but in the end - it's just hair and hairless I guess ... no big whoop.
