Post by faceless »

Galloway is on Sky News in 30 minutes reviewing tomorrow's papers. Thanks to Paintdry for coming in to the chat to let me know.

I'll have the programme ready for download by about 1am.

Hi! Faceless

That is a pretty neat set-up you got there.

Thanks.

I watched BBC and the HardTalk host present a question "Does Iraq Need A Dictator" and headlined "Davos" or something like that. Did you manage to see that? Galloway was in his prime during that interview.

that interview is in that section too - full-size avi file too, not the lo-fi stream.

I thought it was her when the programme started but it didn't really click until later on when it's mentioned. It seems like happy-days are here again at SKY for George... though I'm not sure she accepted his description of the event in as much humour as he suggested.

He was rather polite to her about it, initially only mentioning that he was on YouTube and later describing it as a "duet" and the hit count (> 4,000,000).

Perhaps he'll be a regular on this program. While the video was good (and the format respectful) it saddens me a bit to think of George as a media pundit.

Maybe his next stop will be on Bill O'Reilly's show. (just kidding)

the very same point crossed my mind earlier today... is that his ambition now that he's not standing for election?

When he mentioned listening to Springsteen on YouTube, I had to do the same as the Boss was a very big influence as I was growing up. I found a wealth of new brilliant material as I’ve been too occupied with other concerns lately, & I’m especially kicking myself for missing his “Bruce & Seeger Band” Tour last year. There are a number of moving songs from this tour including a rendition of the traditional Irish Folksong “Mrs McGrath”, and I came across this clip somebody had put together, and I have too admit that tears were rolling down my cheeks by the end of it.

Hi! Faceless

I got it wrong. I thought it was HardTalk because of the host. (Tim Sebastian)

I was wondering if you had this saved somewhere?

THE LATEST DEBATE

Adnan Pachachi, former President of the Iraq Governing Council, blamed occupying forces for the sectarian violence in Iraq during the latest Doha Debate on January 31.

"The vast majority of Iraqis are not involved in sectarian violence, they want to live in peace. Militias act in the name of a sect. I blame this on the occupying power, which established a system based on division," he said.

Mr. Pachachi was arguing against the motion: This House believes only a new dictator can end the violence in Iraq.

He won the Debate with co-speaker British parliamentarian George Galloway. The audience backed their call to support democracy and reject a dictator by a majority of two to one.

Arguing for the motion were Sabah Al-Mukhtar, President of the Arab Lawyers Association in the UK, and Robert Baer, a former CIA officer who served for 20 years in the Middle East.

I found this compelling, Rep. Paul Findley. A name I hadn't heard before, but from this there must be more...
