Contest winner throws cash to crowd

A German lorry driver has literally thrown away tens of thousands of euros after winning a radio competition by promising to do precisely that.

Asked "What would you do with 100,00 euros [$A167,000]?", Marko Hilgert said he would give away three quarters of the money.

And on Friday he threw 75,000 euros ($125,000) to grateful crowds in the western German city of Kaiserslautern.

"I put 75,000 euros out from the crane and I had fun and all the persons had fun and gave me kisses and kisses and everything was great," he said.

"But now I'm in the hotel, and I said, what have I done?"

Only in Germany....

Must be something in the water there, they start something & quite often end up in a small room wondering "what the hell have I done"?
