Welcome Major Tom! Hope you enjoy it here. Make sure to avoid spoilers when in the soap forums. We're all usually pretty good about it.

Hi Major. Welcome to the Couch. Always glad to see a new face. I'm more of an Eastenders fan myself, but I think you'll find some good discussion in the soaps section... most are pretty good about noting any spoilers.

And don't feel bad about being 6 months behind in Corrie (I'm assuming you watch on CBC) --- our EE, which airs here on BBC Canada, is approx. 20 months behind --- so I enjoy all the current programs and just played "catch up" on the BBC website. I enjoy watching the EE here as reruns.

Welcome Garry. Nice to have you on the couch.

I've always had quite an admiration for donkey wrestlers, especially macho business ones. Anyone that wrestles ass is fine in my book!

Enjoy!

Hi i'm from a small town just outside Glasgow called Johnstone, I am 31 and living with my wife and son. I am a forklift truck driver, and enjoy watching movies, reading and having the Occasional tipple (booze binge).

It's a reference to Newsradio, which was a pretty good sitcom until Phil Hartman's untimely death.

The reference has to do with Jimmy James, the station manager. His autobiography, "Jimmy James, Capitalist Lion Tamer" sold poorly, but for some reason sold like hot cakes in Japan. So he had the Japanese version translated back into English and its new title was "Jimmy James, Macho Business Donkey Wrestler." He also gave a book signing and reading at a bookstore (before he had time to read the translation, of course) and the quotes were similarly gems.

I used to watch Emmerdale as well, and I think that was several years behind (until CBC stopped carrying it).
