Pimp my toilet!

Toilet, pimped
Thursday, January 11, 2007
For most people, a good book or a copy of Heat is enough to get them through and extended visit to the toilet. That, or simply staring at the walls. But for those of you who aren't quite satisfied by those options, maybe this is the answer. An American plumbing firm is launching a competition to win a 'Pimped Out John' – a toilet that's equipped with a DVD player, high-definition television, an Xbox 360, and an iPod and dock. In case that might not be enough to keep you occupied, there's also a laptop computer, a TiVo, a fridge and – crucially – a beer tap. Thus enabling you to keep consuming more food and drink even as you excrete, enabling you to become little more than a gigantic meat tube for filtering booze.

In case you might be worried that this could leave you slightly unhealthy, there's also some bike pedals installed to you can get a little exercise. The toilet – which features a powerful 1.4 gallon flush – also has an emergency button to summon a plumber in case of an emergency. And just to add that touch of class, the rim of the toilet bowl has flashing lights.

It remains to be seen if the trend will catch on. The company behind the pimp-bog – Roto Rooter, America's largest plumbing firm – will launch the competition on its website on January 24.

What's wrong with just reading the paper?! :crazed:

Gee, any longer than a page or two and the legs get numb from sitting there, who can sit there for that long to watch a DVD? What's wrong with your anus if you need to sit there that long? lol

Um, if you're spending that much time on the toilet, you have big problems.

Mat made of moss stays alive with the help of bath water
A new bathmat made of moss is kept alive by the water that drips from your body as you dry.

The mat contains a total of 70 pieces of ball, island and forest moss measuring 2.4in (6cm) each in diameter. It feels soft underfoot and does not smell when it gets damp. Each piece of moss is cut into a foam frame, which prevents the moss from spreading or growing out of control.

Its designer, Nguyen La Chanh, from Switzerland, says the mat is very relaxing and needs little care. She said: "The idea was to find a new way of having your plants inside. Not only plants in pots quietly standing in the corner of a living room but alive plants, evolving in the house. I think this mat would appeal people who miss a corner of nature in their appartment - perhaps if they live in an urban environment, far from parks and nature areas. It's relaxing, feels lovely and soft under the feet and doesn't need much care."

Miss Nguyen is looking for financial backing so she can mass produce the mat for less than the £220 it cost her to make.

Nice idea, and I bet it feels great on your feet - but that's some price...
