the Russian poisonings

So, what does anyone else think about this story of the ex KGB guy being poisoned by polonium? I thought it was a pretty elaborate way to kill someone - hell, ions like that are so powerful that something like 1 pico gramme (1/10000th of a gram?) is enough to kill a person.

Why didn't they just bundle him in the back of a Transit van and drive him off to the countryside to bump him off like any other shady organisation?

I think it sounds feasible and these day's I'll believe anything. I mean, they've done the tests/autopsy and found the cause.

Now, as to why they chose something like that rather than what you suggested, I have no clue!!!

I heard that the British Airways had some of their planes contaminated with the stuff and had to notify thousands of passengers that they'd been exposed. That must have been quite a job.

More like he was a willing courier of the stuff, had exposed himself to it & contaminated the BA stuff.

C'mon... ex-KGB nowdays translates to bastard for hire.

I'm with faceless, there are a great many ways this guy could have been snuffed out, nice & slow or fast yet poeticly brutal.

I recon my theory is correct, but then why wouldn't I?

I just saw on the news some woman who claims to be a friend of Litvinenko saying that she'd spoken to him recently and he'd discussed his plan to blackmail (for cash) some businessman who had corrupt links to the Kremlin...

I was thinking he might break the word up so that's actually the first thing I was looking for.

This is like a fun game really. We should do this with everyone and plant words people must look for. It'd be easy to pull off as you can have rules like the word can be backwards or broken up etc.

I still think he's going to put it in other posts so keep an eye out.

And I thought I did pretty well to get "hell, ions" into a sentence!
