Looks like Jake's exit will be final

EASTENDERS heart-throb Jake Moon will be killed off ? by MISTAKE, we can reveal.

Jake, played by Joel Beckett, is the victim of a gangland hit from jailed mobster Johnny Allen ? despite reports that a door would be left open for his return to the BBC1 soap.

But his murder turns out to be a case of mistaken identity. Johnny (Billy Murray) actually orders the hit on Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) ? his daughter Ruby?s money-grabbing boyfriend.

A show source said: ?Johnny is fed up with hearing tales about Sean manipulating Ruby and trying to get her cash.

?But because he?s behind bars for murder, there?s not much that he can do.

?So he gets Jake to bring Sean to meet him in prison.

?And he dislikes him instantly as Sean really winds him up.?

Johnny makes a call to an underworld killer to get Sean out of the picture, so to speak. But the hitman needs glasses ? as he kills Jake instead.

The scenes will be shown at the end of the month.

I'll be sorry to see him go, but, his character really hasn't had much of a storyline since his brother was killed and Alfie/Nana left the show.

He hasn't. He's just been showing up behind the bar and looking sullen for at least the past six months or so. Nothing very exciting.

Yeah, there's so much they could do with Jake. I think EE team are missing out by letting him go. In my opinion, he's much better to look at than Sean. Maybe it's an age thing!

Oh he's much better than Sean. Sean is the panto villian in my opinion. He might be eye candy but he's damn boring.

I think they've missed out on a lot of good characters lately and started focusing on new ones too much or brining in new ones. Not really the best way to get ratings up.
