I personally love Judy Tenuta and Margaret Cho. I would add Robin Williams to the list though.

I've seen a few of these people and not one of them are remotely humorous. I'd say Maxim got it right 8)

I stopped reading at the first thing about Carlos Mencia - the "joking" comment about building a fence to keep Mexicans out made me baulk. If an editor lets a comment like that stay then I won't read any of the other shite that is bound to be there.

Also, the fact that Mencia isn't actually Mexican doesn't seem to matter. He's actually half German and half Honduran.

I agree with Maxim with exception to Carlos Mencia. I love Carlos Mencia, and I think he's hilarious. I have tickets to see him in the Fall. A comedian is supposed to make you laugh, and Carlos has me laughing throughout his routine, so he does his job well as far as I'm concerned. :star:

If you have ever seen Robin Williams live & not the crud he does on TV (even the so called uncensored TV stuff) you may change your mind.

I saw him at the old comedy store in London way way back in the day... managed to see him twice since, both times he wasn't on the bill, he just showed up & got on stage (invited)
(once in washington DC & once in LA)
Sheer genius.

Agree with most of the list with the exception of Sinbad -- saw his live act once and he was hilarious.

My gay friends (who obviously aren't subscribers to "Maxim" :wink2: ) adore Margaret Cho, so I guess it comes down to audience appeal/preference.

I like Whoopi Goldberg. The rest are awful though. I'm surprised Margaret Cho only got to number two.

An oldie and a not so goodie that didn't make the list is Emo Phillips. I saw him live at a comedy club in Tampa and the most interesting thing that happed all night was that there was some gun play in the parking lot during the show.

Probably 'cause 8 out of 10 cats, let alone most americans don't know who he is, and luckily never will.

i saw sinbad once i thought he was very funny, it amazes me what people find funny sometimes , most of the 'comedians' on the list dont even seem to understand the basic idea of being funny , half of them are the type that think trying to shock or offend the audience is enough to be funny in its own right.
