it's over 5 million now... I was quite enjoying it until the whole bit about how only American troops can provide the assistance.

I don't think it matters, I know what you mean, but for me that doesn't matter. The guy who made the promise is American, they do have a lot of troops doing nasty stuff.
Make him famous, then kill him ... after a fair trial.

I don't think the guy was saying in his short film that only American troops can provide assistance, but that he was trying to get government help from his own government as a citizen. I read a book a couple of years ago from a kid from Sierra Leone who also was forced to be a boy soldier. The stories were horrendous and very similar to what is happening in Uganda. I hope that they are successful not only in capturing this Kony guy, but also in helping other African nations that are going through similar circumstances. The cause seems to be a worthy one.

The one thing above all others that makes me think that this guy is on the level is that he first met Jacob 9 years ago, and has documented that relationship.

I don't think that this is a 9 year old conspiracy, they ain't that clever. Could they, the neo cons, be jumping on a popular bandwagon to further their imperialist goals?.. maybe.

Perhaps the guy who made this video is taking things a little too simplistically, I thought that from the offset, but so what ? At least it has raised awareness, and with that comes questioning and all that follows.

I reckon that the most likely answer is that certain pressure groups have taken this cause under their wings because it's a win-win. How could anyone be against the hyped-up tracking-down of such a monster?

TMZ has footage of "Kony 2012" honcho Jason Russell in the midst of his naked meltdown in San Diego ... pounding his fists in anger and screaming maniacally. As we previously reported, Russell was detained by police yesterday ... after witnesses say he was running around naked and making sexual gestures. Russell was held on a 5150 psychiatric hold ... so authorities can decide if he poses a danger to himself or others.

A rep for Invisible Children says Russell was suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition as a result of a strenuous PR campaign.
