Assuming that's 12 nautical miles, that would be about 22 kms (based on this site).

Nautical Miles conversion
A unit of length used in marine navigation that is equal to a minute of arc of a great circle on a sphere. One international nautical mile is equivalent to 1,852 meters or 1.151 statue miles. Please not that this is different to a UK Nautical mile.

It's now official: the U.N. is utterly bereft of legitimacy. An occupying power has absolutely no rights in occupied territories; only responsibilities. By giving Israel the green light to maintain the blockade, they've ensured the continued collective punishment of over 1 million people and all of the death and suffering that will inevitably result.

Conclusions like that make it pretty clear why some people become extremists - if you can't rely on official justice, then what do you do?
