Death Note
I watched this last year (thanks to 3raqiajasmin) and was really impressed with the story, characters and plot. The story is basically that a young guy finds a book in which he can write anyone's name - knowing that they will die as a result...

This video is the English dub version, but the Japanese version with subs (you can find it on torrent sites) is definitely worth looking for.
