I'm on 6 as well, but have no problem going into the Add-ons menu.
If you're interested in troubleshooting your issue, select "Restart with add-ons disabled" from the Help menu. That should allow you to selectively disable add-ons until you pinpoint the culprit.
Of course, it could just be a corrupted profile too. The only solution for that is creating a new one and adding your bookmarks and extensions back. (I think the command to run the profile manager is something like "Firefox -profilemanager".) IMO, this would be a last resort.
Best of luck! |

how did you get on the beta update channel?
my firefox just updated, but to version 7. version 7 had made no difference to the problems i've been having with slow/jerky rendering with css3 though. maybe its just firefox expects people to have faster more powerful computers than i have.
maybe its my graphics card ( on the motherboard ) and firefox, because i used to have problems with just firefox if there were background images stretched to fit the page - pages would scroll really slowly. i haven't had that problem for quite some time though
whatever the problem though, chrome, safari and opera don't suffer from it |

If you uninstall your current version, then install an update, you will be in the beta channel from then on.
If you want to stay in the "stable" channel (no betas or release candidates), just install one of the official releases (current version is 7.0.1) and you will only get notified when there is a new stable release available.
Easy peasey. |
