Body tricks...

On this evening's 'one show' there was a small feature about 'muscle memory'. What they did was to get people to stand in a doorway pushing against the verticals of the doorframe with the back of the hands...

After standing there for 40 seconds or so, they stand forward and relax their arms... give it a go and see what happens. It's strange for sure!

My yoga instructor often talks about muscle memory. In her context, once you do a position, your body knows what you it to do and has an easier time the second time out. A little different concept, but I have also tried the doorway thing before and it is pretty amazing.
