TRAFFIC ground to a halt on the busy Berrimah Rd as a piece of mining equipment was shipped from Darwin yesterday. Motorists stood by and watched in awe as the dual-lane road - under heavy construction as part of the Tiger Brennan Drive upgrade - was filled by the entourage surrounding the structure.
Transcon senior project officer Gordon Fern said the pipe rack module was the third of six to be constructed in Darwin and shipped to the Black Tip project. "They will house gas pipelines (at the project)," he said. "It weighs 27 tonnes, is 30m long, 8.4m wide and 6m high. Three have been constructed and taken down, and the other three will be moved in the coming weeks."

that 'oversize' sign on the front of the truck is necessary eh?!
