I'm not sure how many of you know that I used to write and perform my own acid/techno music back in the 90s, but I did it for a good few years and had a fair amount of success with the group I was involved with that was known as "Breach of the Peace".... crazy days they were, I can assure you. Anyway, I stopped making the music around 1998, vowing never to go back to it...but yesterday I thought I'd give it a try again.
This is done using Fruity Loops and is a rough version. It's the first effort I recorded and is mixed manually and "live" (as opposed to presets), which anyone who knows about this stuff will probably be able to tell. I'll maybe get round to doing a fully produced version at some point, but for a first step back in the dark and murky depths of techno I'm quite pleased... The ideal place to hear this would be in the wee small hours with a massive sound system and a fair amount of mind altering substances (tea, coffee, etc) having been consumed.

If I wasn't an old fuddy duddy I can see myself clubbing to this sort of stuff.
It's really pretty good - needs a good heavy bass line going to round it off I think, then its time to call the record companies.
Of course we would never buy it, just download it for free from one of those torrent sites

I kind of like the dichotomy of the, what I would call, pop mixed with the acid. Interesting mix.

Well done and you've certainly not lost your touch. At the beginning it reminded me a bit of Soft Cell. Don't kill me! That was a compliment!

Where's my light stick and whistle!? Thanks for shaking the stalagtites of memories loose ... it makes me want to drive really fast now ... kind of like the motor bikes in TRON
Brian and I were dancing around to it ... it is really good for bouncing a baby to. I am telling you - techno for babies is an untapped market ...

excellent - glad you both liked it. I did once write a tune specifically as a lullaby but people told me it was too heavy... I always knew it had some legs for the young'uns though!

i'm most impressed you did it with fruityloops! the production sounds nice, clear and crisp, not at all like anything i've ever made with fruityloops lol
