Taiwan's SuBo - The Unlikely Web Sensation
April 08, 2010

A Taiwanese singer has been dubbed the new Susan Boyle after his rendition of a Whitney Houston song became an internet sensation. Lin Yu Chun entered a TV talent show in his country and now his version of I Will Always Love You is one of the most popular videos on the web.
However, the 24-year-old shopkeeper does not have a typical pop star image. Taiwanese media have nicknamed him "Little Fatty". He is chubby and sports a red dicky bow, a bowl-cut hairstyle and a rather unflattering mono-brow. But the boy can sing - and he sings with feeling.
His unlikely performance on the karaoke TV show Super Star Avenue has even been likened to the pop diva, Houston. Chun is already a massive hit on YouTube and Twitter and is now the bookies' favourite to steal the show. So far, his YouTube video has had 480,000 hits. If he wins the TV competition, he will take home £650,000 and a record deal. And he will also take SuBo's title as the most unlikely music star on the world stage.

He's pretty good, but Taibo ain't no Subo!
