No trouble, Luke. I feared this week's show might've been lost to the ages, but was fortunate to find a rabbit in my hat.
Needless to say, I'll be adjusting my system to record a bigger window next week. (You can't trust rabbits to stay where you last saw them. Plus, they eat all your veg.)
I noticed some ringing last week too, but haven't had a chance to listen to today's yet.
Before uploading (depending on how much time I have) I try to normalize the volume over the entire hr. That means flattening spikes, eliminating pops and bringing up the quiet bits. (That last part works when listening to the whole show, which I didn't have time for this morning.) Today's mp3 was up 30 minutes after the show ended; it would've been up in 15-20, but I uploaded last weeks show by mistake the 1st go-round.
I just want to add my thanks to all who have done the work of recording and posting these downloads of George's New York show. I also hope it stays on the air. And I agree with the comment that it adds a different taste having these Americans calling in... I just wish the callers could refrain from 9 11 theories, even though I often agree with some of the points they raise. Let's face it - the murders of JFK RFK MLK - and many other conspiracies that have shaped our world do need to be addressed - but GG does not really want to be the one to address these things, while we have all these present day issues that he so bravely works on - like Gaza.
God Bless you all - for your work at spreading GG's shows and videos on this great site!!
Thanks for the note, joepiano. I'm happy that you're finding them useful.
We agree on the 9/11 calls; I think there are more pressing (and achievable) issues at hand than going down the rabbit hole, the fact that Obama couldn't even achieve a rollback of the tax cut for the rich (sorry, they prefer to go by job creators) in the face of an immovable Republican Tea party and impending debt default being among the top issues.
Closing GITMO, ending illegal wars and prosecuting those responsible, (and the list goes on) all seem like pie-in-the-sky in this light.
No joy today. When I first scanned the recording, I was surprised to hear GG's voice, but closer examination revealed it was a re-broadcast GG's call from Indonesia. This was announced by Efay (sp?) at the top of the hour.
