I've honestly been thinking the parents were involved for some time now. It makes me sick. But I know from personal experience that parents can do this type of thing so I am never shocked.

I just can't imagine that such a publicity campaign as they made could have done anything but put the girl in further danger. Any criminal faced with such a barrage of information and publicity would surely try to get rid of the evidence. And with such a lot of big brother cameras everywhere the only folk who really needed to know were the police.

I have no personal experience Sky, but I've had doubts about these people for a while.

For me, I just don't know either way. With all the sicko shit I read about every day, I wouldn't be surprised if the mother killed the kid, but I still can't say one way or another. I'd need to hear more information. I'm only getting snippet information on this International CNN. Such a crap news station. I'd like to see a good news article about it online or something. Poor little girl. She was such a cutie pie. What a shame.

It should be known that calling the mother a 'suspect' has differing meanings in Portugal to how most people understand the term.

The police actually have to declare the person a suspect (arguido) before they can even ask certain types of questions.

Some more bizarre stories I heard today about a syringe being found in the rrom and weter the parents doped the kid to make her sleep while they went out partying.

I think I heard today that DNA tests proved that blood found in the boot of the rental car matched madeline's. I'm confused now. How did blood get in the boot of the car that the parents didn't even rent until long after the child disappeared? If the parents are not guilty they're in a living hell. On the other hand, if they did kill the child, even accidentally, they're in a living hell. Bummer.

FORENSIC traces from Madeleine McCann’s body “prove" she overdosed on sleeping pills, it was sensationally claimed yesterday. A damning police dossier is said to show that body fluids found in the boot of the car hired by her parents 25 days after she disappeared suggest she was drugged. The astonishing allegation came as detectives in Portugal were preparing to re-interview Madeleine’s mother Kate, possibly in Britain or at police headquarters in Portimao.

The parents faced a further setback in their attempt to defend their names yesterday when several millionaires bankrolling the Madeleine Fund blocked moves to use any of the cash to finance the couple’s legal defence. The developments came as Kate McCann invited social services to check on the welfare of Madeleine’s two-year-old twin brother and sister, Sean and Amelie.

Mrs McCann and her husband Gerry, both 39, from Rothley, Leicestershire, have vehemently denied having anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance and have repeatedly stressed there is no evidence their daughter is dead.

But we can reveal the report on the case before Portuguese judge Pedro Miguel dos Anjos Frias contains allegations that Madeleine died from an overdose. The prosecutor’s report said analysis of the fluids found in the boot of the car “prove that the little girl had ingested medicines, without doubt sleeping pills, in large quantities.” These, according to the dossier, “caused an overdose” which led to Madeleine’s accidental death.

I'm not sure if they're clutching at straws or if there is truth to this, but it would certainly go some way to an explanation.

It could have been an injection .. I recall reading they we police were looking into a needle. Parents sometimes joke about giving children a sleeping pill on a flight (or a dose of paracetamol).

If it was pills, I wonder if Madeleine woke up and decided to take more pills.

In either case, the McCann's might have panicked when they found it. Who knows what people would do in such situation, when the right thing is of-course to call in the paramedics (or police).

Comedian Kielty's tasteless jokes about Madeleine stuns crowd

A comedian reduced his audience to stunned silence with a series of jokes about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Patrick Kielty, who has appeared on TV's Fame Academy and Love Island, was performing a stand-up routine before a crowd of 1,000 in Dublin.

Incredibly, he joked that if the McCanns wanted to dispose of the body of their daughter, they should have checked her in as luggage on a Ryanair flight. He added that the couple had been backstage but had disappeared two hours later when he went to check on them. The sick comments prompted members of the audience to get up and leave the show.

Barman William Boland, 24, was one of the many members of the audience who stormed out of the offensive show, according to the Daily Mirror. When Boland spotted Kielty later in a bar, he approached him and said: "Who do you think you are making jokes like that? "But he told me he could say whatever he liked and if I don't like it I can always leave. I told him I did. I felt like hitting him."

A spokesman for the 36-year-old comedian said: "Patrick apologises to anyone who may have taken offence. More than 1,000 people attended the show and the small number of walkouts reflects the sensitivity of those few people, rather than the content of the show. Patrick is a comedian and the material was written to reflect the media's changing attitude towards the case and should be taken in that context. He performed the exact same material last week in London with no complaints whatsoever."

The revelation that the picture of a girl being carried on the back of a Moroccan woman is NOT Madeleine McCann will be yet another devastating blow to the missing girl's parents.

Kate and Gerry McCann said earlier today, through their spokesman, that they had been on an "emotional rollercoaster" following several alleged sightings of their missing daughter. Hopes that the latest sighting was the missing four-year-old were dashed today when a Moroccan farmer's family came forward and said she was in fact their daughter.

The blonde girl, named Bushra Binhisa, who was spotted being carried along a dusty road by a group of Moroccans near Tangier, bore a striking resemblance to Madeleine.
