No offence folks, but how can we celebrate or at least agree that a new law is passed on BLOGGERS having journalistic writes & then disspute MySpace which is essentialy a Bloggers paradise as being bad?
I hate to say it as both a victim of child abuse on many levels & as a parent...
The internet is an open book to all sorts.
If we can agree that Bloggers have a dispensation to write whatever under the same laws as a journalist, then we also have to respect their subject matter...
Now, I don't agree with it myself, but as I said, by the other thread we praise the right to write anything, protect ourselves & our sources...
Where do we, where can we draw the line?
This thread contradicts by subject matter the other thread where the same members praised the right to free speech...
What's it to be?
Where does fredom of speech stop?
Should fredom of speech stop?
I appologise right now for those that can not understand what I am saying, but to those who do...
Whats the differance here ? |

A comparison in the off-line world is :
What if a newspaper allowed sex offenders to use adverts to attract children.
An ideal government aim in the new regulated Web 2.0 is to be able to legally associate any action (whether blog entry, web search, browsing) to a person (i.e. to a standard which can be used in a prosecution).
ID Cards is just a step in that direction.
At some stage, those ID Cards might be needed to log-in to the Web. |

| We keep pictures of all the known sex offenders in our school districts posted in our office and lounge. They're scum. And they don't need to be near schools or other kids. I don't care if they feel their rights are being violated. Protecting the children is what matters to me. |
