A co-worker of mine once splashed out on an Acura NSX, at a cost of over US$70,000.00 .

Just one week after bringing the car home, he admitted that owning such an expensive car was making him way too paranoid (break-in, theft, vandalism) that he returned it. Instead, he bought a Chevy Truck for US$22,000.00.

He doesn't regret his decision at all, since it's more practical for his needs - not to mention he pays a LOT LESS on car insurance!

I too have owned a few of the 55 & 56 chev's...

Great cars to own indeed but a bugger to maintain in a beach resort area (sea air aids rust).

Don't blame him one bit. If I had a car that expensive I'd be worried about a tiny ding even. My pick-up gets dings all the time and they just make it more mine :)

$70,000 for an NSX. It costs £70,000 over here for the same car  . Total rip off.

Anyway back to topic. Absolutely gutted bout the car but the guy was driving like a right proper arse. 100mph is no speed for normal roads (i am aware this is too fast for any roads before i get it in the neck).

This is a car that broke the record. Rumous is that each car cost in the region of £4M-£5M to produce. Not exactly sure on those figures. They announced they WOULD build this car and that it would be the fastest so they felt they had to build it or be totally ridiculed.

Unbelievable machine.

ps: loving the old American cars. I'm a bit of a muscle car fan. Can't beat the sound of the old V8's
