on monday i think it was some kid jumped in and mashed up his spine! it was on the news - they call the jumping tombstombing. the tide goes in and out and the water level can really change, he jumped in when there was hardly any water and smacked into the bottom

there was another guy, i think he was drunk, this was in cornwall or devon, he did the same thing and he's paralysed now

but if you know the tides then it looks great fun :)

glad you liked the pics :)

looks like a much better place to live than London - though it probably gets almost as busy in the summer... with all the Londoners escaping from the tourists!

Those diving boards they have there are some height eh? I doubt I'd have the nerve...

today is a sad day :( for over a year now we've had a mouse who visits the house, we did think about setting a trap or something to get him, but no one could bring themselves to actually kill it, so we've been feeding it :) you wouldn't see him very often and when you did it would be pretty quick, but you'd know it had been because he'd take the food ( he didn't like strawberries but grapes were fine! )

today we found it it laying on the kitchen floor, not sure what happened but it had blood coming out of it, its back legs were all broken and he couldn't move about - just his front arms, so we decided to put it out of it misery ... rip little mouse :(

I wonder if a cat got to it from outside and it was running inside the house for a safe haven to his kind house host. :-)

Sorry about the pet mouse luke. It was nice of you to end his suffering. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with this, but that tree in your yard is indeed staring at you Luke. That is so funny.

I think the tree got the mouse!

In all seriousness, I am sorry about the mouse Luke. I had pet mice when I was little and they are sweet for sure. I am glad you put him out of his misery. Nothing should have to suffer like that.

We've got a few rats running around outside the pub so we put down a few traps- what a satisfying noise there is when they snap shut - there's a little bit more blood than your little mouse Luke.

How did you put it out of its misery? Whack it with a shovel or something?

I was wondering that, too, but I decided not to ask. I would have no idea how to humanely kill a mouse, or any creature for that matter. I guess you could put it in the blender for a quick "zzzuzzz!", that would be fast, but unnecessarily macabre. Plus smoothies wouldn't be the same anymore.
