haha, I didn't think that would happen for a while - I'm sure it will affect a lot of floating voters... the hardcore will always think she's great because they've been told to.

Dumb as dogshit. It is nice of the Republicans to give the Presidency away. I do send my thanks, but with bated breath.

I've merged all the topics about Sarah Palin into one - can I ask that people put anything about her in this one thread. I don't want the whole section to be filled up with stuff about the american election and american politics.

there seems to be a lot of nonsense in this thread and we're not dealing with the important issues.

so, is her lip-liner really tattooed on?!

that reminds me of marios girlfriend in the big brother house who had some eye makeup tattooed on! it wasn't until then i realised you could have makeup tattoos! i bet that must hurt!

So this is your average hockey mom who can sit down with Joe Sixpack? What a fucking crock. I don't give a monkies if they are donating the stuff to charity after the election. What about the makeup? That won't be donated and even it was, who gives a fuck? This honestly makes me so angry I could spit nails. We're in an economic crisis and they throw that much money down on this beauty queen's wardrobe, plus more on top of her family. Sick. I am so through with the Republican party at this moment. I used to have some respect for them but right now it's gone out the window like a pair of old Jimmy Choo's.
That amount of money could have paid off almost our whole mortgage! Let alone the families it could have fed. But no, they have to dress up their Barbie. Instead of doing that they should have been using it to run more ads. Lord knows they can't buy creditability at this point. Pathetic.

Her candidacy is based on her appearance so it makes sense to spend a relatively small percentage of the funds on clothes.

I hope it does her damage(I hope anything does) but seems to me to be a storm over nothing just like the hysteria about Obama getting tiny $5 anonymous donations.

More importantly the BBC reported tonight that the gap was closing in the polls...

I don't find it a storm over noting at all. This is a woman they are presenting as the "average American" who can relate to "Joe the Plumber". And they drop 150,000 on her wardrobe? There is nothing average about that. It just shows how full of shit they are.

As for the polls, it depends on what ones they are looking at. There are least 30 major polls in the US right now. When I viewed them all yesterday there were ones that reported the gap was 4 points and others that showed it at 10. I pay no attention to the polls, especially after the Gore/Bush election.

Sarah Palin: 'I always wanted a son called Zamboni'
By Niall Firth
23rd October 2008
[/align]
As Alaskan governor, its should come as no surprise that Sarah Palin has a particular fondness for all things ice hockey-related. And with boys already called Trig and Track, the Republican’s vice-presidential candidate has certainly shown she isn't shy of giving her children unusual names. But even by Sarah Palin’s standards, naming a child 'Zamboni' – after the machine that makes the ice smooth during hockey matches – is perhaps taking things a little too far.

Palin was quizzed about future names for children during a wide-ranging interview with People magazine in the US. When asked whether she and her husband had any more unusual names up their sleeves Palin said: ‘We did. We never got to get our Zamboni in. I always wanted a son named Zamboni.’ Her husband Todd, however, seemed less than impressed. ‘I don't think that would have flied,’ he said. Luckily, the possibility of Palin inflicting the bizarre name on any future offspring seems unlikely as she also admitted that her current brood of five is enough.

A dedicated runner, Palin named her 18-year-old son Track because he was born during the athletics season.

------------------

fucking heeeeellllll. I had wondered about her son called 'Track' earlier, but this is just ludicrous.
