Theme-park dolphins have fatal accident
April 29, 2008
A dolphin has died after a freak accident with its mate at a theme park when they clashed heads during a display. Their energetic leap out of the water towards each other went wrong when their heads collided, killing one of the dolphins. Sharky, a 30-year-old bottlenose fell back into the water where her trainers cradled her as she eventually died. The other dolphin, Tyler, seemed to be unharmed by the accident.
A park spokesman said: "It was an unfortunate and random incident. It's an atmosphere where the dolphins pretty much say what they want to do. The trainers don't ever force them. It is all through positive reinforcement."
Spectators watched in horror at the accident at Discovery Cove, where the display had been a showstopper for years. The park offers visitors a 'close-up' dolphin encounter; more than 30 of them are in captivity at the park.
------------------
I'm sure the chances of such a 'random incident' happening in the wild would be far lower - set the dolphins free!

I totally agree about the voice over. I kept waiting for him to give a punch line or something. Amazing video. Not what I expected.

Amazing...I think I recognize the voice. I think that the clip came from the kid's version of the National Geographic show. I could be wrong though...
