The Left Alternative

I went to have a check on the Respect Coalition page and see that it's now changed to the new name 'Left Alternative'. I'm guessing this means that there might be all the old mistrust amongst the various groups if the rights to that name are owned by just one section.

Anyway, they have a link to their first newsletter there, so we can see what they have planned.

Not having read the page nor (quite honestly) knowing much about the Respect party, the new name seems somewhat weak.

"Alternative" = "Option" = "whatever, just hand me that blunt"

Poor branding. A better word might be "prerogative." Though I'm sure others have better ideas.

I'm surprised that you've never looked at the official site for Respect before - why has it taken you so long?
