EE: Jim Spoiler

Post by Skylace »

Well, they are writing it into the story that Jim has had a stroke. :( That to me is not a good sign at all. I have not heard any reports on how he is doing but I am thinking it must not be well. I can only hope his family and friends are being able to take this all. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be.

How strange.... I was thinking about him just last night and wondering how he's doing. I can see that with them writing this into the storyline, they're making it easier to write him out. I really do miss him- he was the perfect balance to Dorothy's character.

Just once, I'd like to see Dot be happy for awhile. How much tragedy can one person deal with?

I agree eefan. And what makes it even worse is it's a real tragedy. This isn't the script writers deciding to make Dot miserable or anything. I am sure the rest of the cast is very concerned for him and it has to be difficult for them.

Oh, poor Jim. I was hoping he'd have recovered well enough to take up his role again. I haven't heard how his condition is, I wish they'd tell us.

Also miss Jim, his timing and his humour, wonder how Patrick will cope?

I miss Jim too. He had a mischievous quality that was both innocent and funny. I imagine he will not be back or we'd have seen interviews about his rehab and progress, his wanting to get back to work, etc,

Cori makes a good point. how will Patrick cope with the loss of his partner in crime.? Those two were always up to something naughty together. Close your eyes and think of jim saying "I'd better clean this up before Dorothy gets home." And how will Dot cope? And Bradley and Abby? After the stroke, will the writers kill him off? Will there be a funeral? If so, there will be some sad characters.

Funny, I was thinking of the character the other day as well.

If this was an American soap they would replace the actor and I'm glad EE is not doing that. I cannot imagine another actor being able to portray Jim successfully. I hope they do not kill off his character in hopes that he will recover and be back entertaining us again with his follies.

More than likely they would misslisa. But on Days of Our Lives when McDonald Carey died they never replaced him. They had the character, Tom Horton, die peacefully in his sleep. Some soaps, even over here won't replace certain characters because the actors are so popular or they are just the part.

Well, I certainly hope this is what happens with Jim's character. Just can't imagine anyone else doing that character justice. I don't know about everyone else, but watching Jim, I always got the feeling that we were really seeing a little bit of the actor's real personality :)
