Roots
Roots is a 1977 television miniseries based on Alex Haley's work Roots: The Saga of an American Family. Roots received 36 Emmy Award nominations, winning nine. It also won a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award. The finale still stands as the third-highest rated U.S. television program ever.

Oh my God, I loved Roots! Thanks for the posting, I've not seen it pretty much since it had come out. I'm gonna start watchin' this tonight. Thanks Face!! :-)
