here's a tune I wrote a few years back to give a comparison. This mix was made by a pal of mine known as Compost Mendez. (hope you catch this at some point Si!)

go on with the amen! gotta be one of my favorite breaks - have you ever heard the original track it came from, amen brother by the winstons?
i like this tune better than the other one, kinda old skooly vibe
is this done with fruity as well? i'm going to have to have another go at making a tune sometime ... |

| I think the break you mean was included by the guy who did the remix. The original was written in 'Impulse Tracker' an ancient dos-based sample sequencer and was much slower (more of a lullaby I always thought). |

Here's a tune that I wrote about X years ago. It was originally a remix of 'Age Of Love' and ended up like this...the 'Out Here, We Is Stoned' sample is by Jim Morrision.

This is a mix I did for a friend using clips from the anime 'Darker Than Black'. The mix is based on the character called Mina Hazuki. She was significant but only featured occasionally in the series, so it was a bit tricky to find 4 minutes worth of content.
Anyway, a basic outline is that she's a lesbian and a psycho who has a super-power. If she uses her power she must pay a forfeit - which for her is kissing a man. |

My latest effort. It's available in HD too - you might need to click the 'quality' button to get that. |

do you still use fruityloops faceless?
i got this nice synth/pad sample, but its got these weird sort of sounds in the background, and i'm trying to eq them out but not having any luck! i wondered if you might have any ideas? |

I've found it's really hard to filter out stuff without losing quality - you'd probably have more success trying to find what synth was used in the first place
These days I'm messing with Renoise - it's basically a modern sample tracker like the ones I started with in the 90s, but with loads more features. |

i think i've seen too many of them sort of spy films where they cut out all the background noise to listen to the voices they want!
i'm sure it would be possible though, when i listen to the sample the noises i want out seem separate to what i want to keep, but i tried a few different eq plugins and none of them really did what i wanted
i've heard of renoise, never used it though - its taken me too long to get where i am with fruityloops that i can't be dealing with starting from scratch with something else! |
